Munnetra Padhai is the outcome of our founder Lakshmi's long-held vision to equip students from low socio-economic backgrounds in India entering college with the necessary skills and training to ensure equitable opportunities for youth entering the workforce. The initiative began in 2022 by our founding partner with the support of Aiswarya and Apoorva, along with the support of Selvi who works on the ground in Tamil Nadu and helps us identify students through her son's immediate circle of friends. Upon speaking with the families of these students, it was more than evident that their financial circumstances would not be able to support their career aspirations. Through further conversations with these students, we understood that our support should extend beyond mere financial assistance - mentorship and customized skills training are equally important for their long-term success and career growth. Through a team of close friends and family, Munnetra Padhai is on the path to level the playing field for the youth of our society, particularly those who are from underprivileged communities.
